Networking

INM has a key role in German and international nanotechnology. It has become a magnet for researchers, engineers and entrepreneurs throughout the world. This is evidenced by the established companies who have sited subsidiaries close to INM, or the strategic partnerships with renowned research institutions throughout the world.

In addition INM is very active in the cooperation in networks and associations, which are important in stimulating future cooperations, enhanced visibility, and for the exchange of information within the “nano” scene.

As one of more than 80 Leibniz Institutes, INM is the initiator of the Leibniz Network Nanotechnology, which connects the institutes with “nano” activities within the Leibniz-Association. At this time, about a dozen institutes are active in this netwok. The coordination of this network is affiliated at INM in Saarbruecken.

In the Leibniz Transfer Network Microelectronics, INM is also active as one of the institutional members. Apart from activities in the field of printed electronics, there are further common interests in the field of optics.

As a member of the Competence Center NanoBioNet (cc-NanoBioNet e. V.), INM is also represented in further major nanotech networks.

More networking connections are underway.
